Camera Use And Techniques
Today in our media lesson we Learnt the three key things to understand when using a camera. These being the focus (the closest ring, and thickest one to the lens of the camera), the zoom ( the second ring in between the exposure ring and the focus ring), the exposure (the thinnest ring and the furthest away from the camera lens). We learnt how to use them by zooming into an object and using the focus ring to get the clearest image on the screen. The exposure was mainly used when a room was too dark or too light to enable the lightness in the room to be even and able to see. The ND filter was used to create different effects on the image on the screen, used usually to foreshadow or emphasise a mood in a scene. Also we used white balance which helps you correct the colour of a room depending on the artificial lighting already in a room or if its just natural lighting outside. To use white balance we zoomed into a white shirt or white screen and focused on it and pressed the white balance button and it would automatically correct the light preferences in a room or outdoor area. Obviously apart from these techniques we also learnt how to use a tripod and how to attach the camera safely to it.
