Lincoln lawyer is similar to our thriller because of the type of sub-genre it is based around, this being a crime thriller. The male character in lincoln lawyer is also a strong male lead, however the male lead is played by Matthew McConaughey and he shows the temperament of our main character before the loss of his daughter and son. Lincoln lawyer also stars Ryan Phillippe, William H.Macy and Marisa Tomei. It is a legal American thriller that adapts around McConaughey's job description as a lawyer, similar to the father in our thriller, in his struggle to solve a case and put the weary to rest, directed by Brad Furman and it similarly is certified and rated 15, as there is still adaptations of gore within the film, similar to our opening sequence and the rest of the film. When interpreting the industry and company that we would use, it was not the same as the one we used, as they were produced by lionsgate, this is due to the fact that new line cinema is owned in synergy with Warner Brothers and they are well known for producing high quality and respected thriller, well known to the film industry. So overall the similarities are that they both revolve around similar pots, as well as having a similar male lead.

CSI is a tv programme created by Antohony E. Zuiker and stars actors such as; William Peterson, Marg Helgenberger, Gary Dourdan and George Eads and it is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer television. It follows las vegas criminalists, with each episode being a different crime for them to solve. This is similar to the plot line and genre, as it is also a crime thriller and it is mostly all about the inside job of a criminalist, now although our main character is not a criminalist he also has to solve the case of his son and daughter, which means that the idea of having a job role of importance for the sake of retribution or saving lives or solving mysteries is the same. One of the main characters is also male and succeeds the same job description of the father in our thriller.

Taken is an action thriller starring Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace and revolves around the idea of a father and daughter relationship, in which his father is kidnapped and he has the physical and mental abilities to get her back and is directed by Pierre Morel and produced by Europa cup institute. This film is similar to our thriller as it includes the same female character, helpless and weak and both characters are taken from their world and are either killed ( like in our thriller) or forced to exist in a world that they don't want to (like taken). The male character, although are both fathers protecting their daughters in different ways, our male character loses his sanity, where as Liam Neeson still looks as if he retains his. They both turn to murder but our character takes it too far as he ends up killing innocent girls of the same age as his daughter to solve the crimes of both his son death and his daughters.


A walk among the tombstones is very similar to taken in the sense that is stars Liam Neeson and is about a recovering alcohol with the same abilities as the character in Taken, he is asked to help kenny, another character within the film to get his wife back. The crime-drama thriller also stars Dan Stevens and David Harbour and is produced and in association with cross creek pictures. The male character is similar to the father in ours as they have both had or have issues with alcohol, showing their struggle with depression and they both on a violent journey to recover evidence of the events or the wife of a friend.
