Intended target audience

The intended target audience ideal would probably be a 16 to 18 year old, seeing as the rating certificate of our thriller would either be a 15 or an 18, which sorts out the targeted audience age limit when exhibiting the thriller in the cinema. I think that strategically our thriller would be more viewable and enjoyable from a male perspective gender. This is because our thriller revolves more around a male perspective, being the father, which is our main character in our thriller and opening sequence. A male audience member would understand and relate to another male character rather than a women, as they share similar characteristics. Our target audience would have outside interests of music and bands such as nirvana and linkin park and would have an interest in our crime thriller based films as they would enjoy the tension of what happens next. They would also be in to other gaming devices on xbox or playstation softwares and play on games like call of duty or grand theft auto, as this shows their interest in gore and violence, which will be relevant in our thriller. This will make them viable to be interested in our thriller and they would enjoy our thriller because of the gore that we are going to include throughout the film and the tension and suspense that is going to be built up in the character in the opening sequence. They will automatically be attracted within the first 2 minutes of our opening thriller sequence, as the suspense and the way we are going to end it, will leave them wanting more as there is going to be a cliff hanger cut at the end.
